Table of Contents:
Required Tools:
- T-15 Torx bit
- 7mm socket
- 10mm socket
- Pry tool (for removing clips)
- Trim removal tool (optional, but recommended for clips)
Grille Removal Process:
1. Open the Hood:
Start by popping the hood to access the grille and bumper fasteners.
2. Loosen and Remove the Upper Bumper:
a. Peel back the fender flares to access the screws and clips.
i. In each wheel well, remove:
1. 2 T-15 screws.
2. 1 7mm screw under the fender flare.
b. Pry off the 2 clips located under the wheel well liner in the front on each side.
c. Once the fasteners are removed, carefully peel the upper bumper off:
i. Start near the wheel well and work your way towards the center, between the
headlights and grille.
ii. Finally, pry off the center section of the upper bumper.
Note: Work slowly to avoid damaging the paint or breaking clips.
3. Remove Push Clips and Screws from the Grille:
a. At the top of the grille (under the hood), remove the 9 push clips securing the grille.
b. Remove the 2 T-15 screws holding the hood release handle and take off the upper
grille cover.
4. Unbolt the Grille:
a. Remove the 6 10mm screws that hold the grille in place:
i. 4 screws located at the top of the grille (under the hood).
ii. 2 screws located at the bottom of the grille.
5. Disconnect Wiring and Remove the Grille:
a. Carefully disconnect any wiring connected to the grille, such as the camera or
sensor harnesses.
b. Slowly and cautiously pull the grille away from the vehicle.
Grille Reinstallation Process:
1. Prepare the New Grille:
a. Transfer the existing gaskets from the old grille to the new one.
b. Install the camera into the new camera bracket on the grille, if applicable.
2. Position the Grille:
a. Align the new grille with the mounting points on the vehicle.
b. Reconnect all wiring (camera, sensors, etc.) to the new grille.
3. Bolt the Grille in Place:
a. Reinstall the 6 10mm screws:
i. 4 screws at the top of the grille.
ii. 2 screws at the bottom of the grille.
4. Reattach the Upper Grille Cover and Hood Release Handle:
a. Reinstall the upper grille cover and secure it with the 9 push clips.
b. Reattach the hood release handle using the 2 T-15 screws.
5. Reattach the Upper Bumper:
a. Start by carefully aligning the bumper near the center, and then between the
headlights and the grille.
b. Work your way outwards toward the wheel wells, pressing the bumper back into
place.
c. Reinstall the 2 clips under the wheel well on each side.
d. Reattach the 2 T-15 screws and the 7mm screw under each fender flare.
6. Close the Hood:
Once everything is securely fastened, close the hood and inspect the grille and bumper for proper
alignment.
